CleanUp: Phone Cleaner is the biggest name in iPhone cleanup — and the most common reasons people search for an alternative are the same three, over and over: the subscription prompts feel aggressive, the weekly plan renews before people realize the trial ended, and the app asks for broad access for features you may never use. If any of that sounds familiar, here's the honest map of your options.
Before installing anything: Photos → Utilities → Duplicates merges exact duplicate files, and the storage recommendations in Settings → General → iPhone Storage flag large videos. Limits: only identical files count as duplicates — bursts, retakes and near-identical shots stay untouched, and there's no fast review flow.
If what you liked about CleanUp was the swiping, Swipewipe is the dedicated version of exactly that — month-by-month swipe review with a satisfying flow. It is still subscription-first, so read the paywall carefully, but the core mechanic is the most refined in the category.
Closer to a librarian than a broom: swipe to trash, but also sort keepers into albums as you go. Choose it if your real goal is organization, not just space.
We built PicBroom specifically against the complaints that send people away from category leaders:
