Swipewipe deserves credit for making photo cleanup feel like a game: one month at a time, swipe left to delete, swipe right to keep. If you're looking for an alternative, it's usually for one of three reasons — you want a lifetime purchase instead of a subscription, you want similar-photo grouping (not just manual swiping), or you want a guarantee that your photos are never uploaded. Here's how the field compares.
PicBroom keeps the same left-delete / right-keep mechanic (with month-by-month and a shuffled "random" mode), and adds the thing manual swiping can't do: an on-device similar-shots view that groups bursts and retakes and pre-selects the sharpest one. Analysis runs on Apple's Vision framework on the phone — privacy label "Data Not Collected". Pricing is a 7-day free trial into a monthly plan with the renewal terms printed on the button, or a one-time lifetime license.
Slidebox's swipe-to-trash comes with album assignment gestures. If your camera roll problem is "everything is unsorted" more than "everything is duplicated", it's the better fit.
The Photos app merges exact duplicates for free (Utilities → Duplicates), and you can bulk-select in the months view. Workable for small libraries; there's no fast per-photo decision flow, which is exactly what swipe cleaners fix.
