1. What we collect
We collect and keep no personal data ourselves. There is no sign-up, no login and no account.
The only thing the game sends to our server is the anonymous usage events described below, which contain no personal data.
The advertising SDK bundled in the game does collect data in order to serve ads (see section 4).
- Your progress (villages held, research, Starlight and its transaction log, the night in progress), purchases and settings
(sound, language, x2 speed) are stored on your device only.
- The advertising identifier (GAID) is used by the ad SDK. Our own game code neither reads nor stores it.
- Anonymous usage events — the game sends a small, fixed set of anonymous events (first launch, first village held,
a village held or lost (with the village number), the shop being opened (and from where), purchase started, completed, cancelled or failed,
restore attempted, an interstitial ad being shown, a reward-video offer being shown, tapped and rewarded, and whether the game was reopened
on day 1 and day 7) to a server we operate. Each event carries only an install identifier the game generates at random, an app tag,
the event name and a timestamp; no advertising ID, device identifier or name is included. We use it solely to see where players drop off,
and raw events are deleted within 90 days, leaving only aggregate counts. Events are not sent from emulators or automated test devices.
- There is no third-party analytics or crash-reporting SDK in the game.
2. Where data lives
| Data | Purpose | Location |
| Village progress, research, the night in progress | Continuing your game | On device |
| Starlight balance and its transaction log | Game economy, support rollbacks | On device |
| Settings (sound, language, speed, ad choices) | Running the game | On device |
| Which one-time purchases you own | Unlocking and restoring purchases, preventing double grants | On device + Google Play |
| Anonymous usage events (random install identifier only) | Seeing where players drop off | Our server — raw events for up to 90 days, then aggregates only |
3. App permissions
The game asks for no runtime permissions. It does not use the camera, location, contacts, photos or notifications.
| Permission | Used for |
| Internet, network state | Showing ads, in-app purchases, sending anonymous usage events |
4. Third-party services
- Google Play Billing — the one-time purchases (No Ads, Swift Wick, Lamplighter's Satchel, Lamplighter's Bundle) are processed by Google;
the game only checks what you own and what was granted. We never see your payment details. Covered by the Google Privacy Policy.
- Unity LevelPlay & Unity Ads (Unity Technologies / ironSource) — to serve interstitial and rewarded video ads it
collects and uses the advertising identifier (GAID), IP address, device information (model, OS version, language, etc.)
and ad-interaction data, which may be passed to advertising partners during ad bidding.
Covered by the Unity Privacy Policy; you can opt out of personalised ads
via the information icon shown on ads.
- InMobi Choice (consent management) — shows the consent dialog in Europe (section 5) and stores your choice
on the device. Covered by the InMobi Privacy Policy.
5. Consent in Europe (GDPR / EEA, UK, Switzerland)
On devices that appear to be in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, the game shows the InMobi Choice consent dialog (IAB TCF) first.
- If you do not consent, or you dismiss the dialog, the ad SDK is not initialised at all — no ad request is sent.
- You can reopen it and change or withdraw consent any time from Settings → "Privacy options".
After withdrawal, any already-loaded ad is discarded rather than shown.
- Outside those regions the dialog does not appear; you can limit personalised ads by resetting or deleting the advertising ID in your device settings.
6. International transfers
We transfer no personal data ourselves. The anonymous usage events in section 1 are processed on Cloudflare infrastructure
(which may be located abroad) and contain no personal data. The advertising partners in section 4 may process data on servers
abroad (including the United States) while serving ads, under their own policies. In Europe this only happens after the consent described in section 5.
7. Ad formats
- There are no banner ads and no ads during a night.
- Interstitials appear only when you leave a result screen — never in your first two villages,
at most one every two villages and at least 3 minutes apart, and not within 90 seconds of a reward video.
- Reward videos play only when you choose one: doubling a village's Starlight, relighting the hearth once per village,
and one "lamp oil" gift per day on the village map.
- After buying "No Ads" (alone or in the bundle) no interstitials are shown; reward videos stay optional.
8. Children
This game is for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13.
9. Your rights
- Change or withdraw ad consent — Settings → Privacy options (devices in Europe).
- Reset or delete the advertising ID — device Settings → Privacy → Ads.
- Delete everything — removing the game erases all of its on-device data.
- Questions — email us at the address below.
