SubTide Guides

Rocket Money earned its position: link your accounts and it finds recurring charges, tracks bills, and will even try to cancel services for you. If that's what you want and you're comfortable with the access it requires, it's a fine choice. People look for alternatives for three specific reasons — and the right alternative depends on which one is yours.
This is the most common one. The fix is a manual tracker — you add each subscription yourself, and the app never touches your accounts.
See our guide to trackers that don't need bank access for how to do the initial "find everything I'm paying for" audit manually in about 15 minutes.
Bank-linked services carry real infrastructure costs and price accordingly, usually as a monthly premium. If all you actually use is the subscription list and reminders, you're paying for automation you consumed once. Manual trackers are structurally cheaper — SubTide's lifetime unlock costs less than a few months of a typical premium budgeting plan, and the free-trial yearly plan is $14.99.
Bank linking depends on aggregator coverage, which is strongest in the US. Outside it, coverage gets patchy and the flagship feature quietly stops working. Manual trackers have no such dependency — SubTide works identically everywhere, supports multi-currency subscriptions natively, and is localized into 32 languages.
Honesty matters here: no manual tracker will discover subscriptions for you or cancel them on your behalf. You do the 15-minute audit once, and you cancel services yourself (usually two taps in your App Store or Play Store settings — see our cancellation guide). What you keep is everything else: reminders, calendar, totals — plus your privacy and a lower price.
